Northwestern Vs. Lamar Final Score: Demons Eliminated From Southland Tournament With 76-69 Loss

Play rolls along on Wednesday at the 2012 Southland Tournament in Katy. The field has been narrowed even further as teams compete for the conference title and an automatic 2012 NCAA Tournament berth. In the second game of the day, the No. 6 seed Northwestern St. Demons fell short against the third-seeded Lamar Cardinals by a final score of 76-69.

Northwestern fell behind early and trailed 35-26 entering halftime. Although they put up a whopped 43 points in the second half, the early deficit proved to be the difference, as the Demons will now be heading home.

Northwestern center William Mosley led all scorers with 22 points, just missing out on a double-double with nine rebounds. Mike James of Lamar also had a big game, with 21 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Lamar will face off against the No. 2 seed Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in the semifinals on Thursday.
