College Baseball: No. 2 Texas A&M Drops Two In A Row, Can No. 6 Baylor Pull Off The Sweep Sunday?

The No. 6 Baylor Bears have continued to shock the world as the boys from Waco has pulled consecutive upsets versus the No. 2 team in the country, the Texas A&M Aggies.

On Friday, the Aggies lost to Baylor 5-3 in what would be considered an offensive exhibition compared to Saturday's contest. Saturday turned into an epic pitcher's duel, as Ross Stripling and Baylor's Trent Blank wheeled and dealed on the mound. Blank's dominance over 8 innings held strong for the Bears, and a sacrifice fly by Max Muncy brought in the only run of the game in a 1-0 victory.

Now the series finale is upon us. If Baylor sweeps Texas A&M then the question must be asked if the Bears is one of the best in the country. Texas A&M needs this win, for no other reason than the need for a confidence boost to finish the season strong before tournament play begins.

The series concludes this Sunday afternoon with a 2:05 p.m. Central first pitch at Baylor Ballpark. The Aggies will send RHP Rafael Pineda (5-1; 2.32 ERA) to the mound to battle Baylor RHP Joey Hainsfurther (2-0; 3.67 ERA).
