Both the Rice baseball program and Chicago White Sox pitcher Phillip Humber were a little busy this weekend, what with the Owls taking two of three in a crucial series against ECU, and Humber throwing a perfect game against the Seattle Mariners on the road Saturday afternoon. Still, Owls head coach Wayne Graham made a point to mention Humber while speaking to the media Sunday afternoon:
#Rice coach Graham says he hasn't been able to reach out to ex-pitcher Philip Humber following perfect game. "He knows we're with him."

Humber is a Nacogdoches native who spent three seasons pitching for the Owls, including a 13-4 record his junior season before entering the MLB Draft. Certainly Rice fans are excited for one of their own to achieve perfection at the game's highest levels, but DAMN, NOW HE MIGHT GET TO MEET KATE UPTON? GO OWLS GO:
Congrats to @Philip_Humber of the White Sox for getting into the Perfect Club. Looking forward to fitting your jacket! #2ksports hah
