Texas A&M Baseball Moves To Second Place In Big 12 With Two Games Remaining

Texas A&M outlasted Oklahoma State 5-2 in extra innings on Thursday night in a win that gave the Aggies sole possession of second place in the Big 12 headed into next week's conference tournament.

The Aggies (39-14) scored in the ninth to force the game to extras, before winning in the top of the 13th on a three-run homer by senior Matt Juengel. The victory moves A&M to 14-8 and Okie State to 13-9, tied with Texas for third place. If Texas A&M can win one of the two remaining games this weekend in Stillwater and the Longhorns lose once more to first place Baylor, A&M will secure the second seed in the conference tournament in Oklahoma City. The second seed in the tournament would place the Aggies opposite of Baylor, meaning the two wouldn't meet potentially until the title game.

The good news for A&M is that senior Ross Stripling, who threw a no-hitter last weekend against San Diego State, will take the mound for Game 2 on Friday night (6:30 p.m. CT first pitch).
