Big 12 Baseball Tournament Scores: Texas A&M Defeats Kansas

So far, so good for the Texas A&M Aggies in the 2012 Big 12 Baseball Tournament. The Aggies defeated the Kansas Jayhawks with ease on Wednesday, winning 10-4 in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament.

Texas A&M starter Daniel Mengden cruised on Wednesday en route to his third victory of the season. Mengden pitched six and two thirds innings, allowing just one unearned run on five hits, while walking just one batter and striking out five in the contest.

Five Aggies recorded a multi-hit game on Wednesday, with Jacob House, Troy Stein, Chance Bolcerek and Scott Arthur all recording two hits. Tyler Naquin went four for five on the day and scored three runs. House and Arthur each drove in three runs.

Texas A&M will take on the winner of tonight's game between Texas and Missouri. First pitch for Texas A&M's second-round contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Kansas, meanwhile, will take on the loser of tonight's game between Texas and Missouri in an elimination game tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. CT.
