Indianapolis 500 Schedule 2012: Saturday Is Legends Day

Though the main event, you know, the actual running of the Indianapolis 500, isn't until Sunday, there's still a fun day scheduled for Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Saturday is Legends Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and fans of all ages should enjoy seeing some of racing's all-time greats come out in the ceremonial event.

This is what fans can expect at Legends Day, per the Indy 500's official website:

Legends Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is packed with fun and exciting events for fans of all ages. The day kicks off with an autograph session featuring all 33 drivers in the starting field. From there, drivers head trackside to receive rewards and final instructions from race control. As drivers head down for the parade, the off track activities continue for race fans. There is a memorabilia show, vintage race car display, and autograph sessions with legendary drivers!

Gates open for fans at 8 a.m, and the full schedule of Saturday's events is as follows:

8:01 am - Legends Club Opens -
8 am - Public Gates Open -
9 am - 10:00 am - Autograph Session -
9 am - 4:00 pm - Indianapolis 500 Memorabilia Show - Plaza Pavilion
9:20 am - 10:20 am - Vintage Racing On-Track -
10:30 am - Public Drivers Meeting -
11:15 am - Roger Penske Q&A - Coke Stage, Plaza
1 pm - Indianapolis 500 Veterans Autograph Session "A" -
3 pm - Indianapolis 500 Veterans Autograph Session "B" -
6 pm - Public Gates Close -
