Indy 500: Schedule, Start Time, Live Updates And More

The 2012 running of the Indianapolis 500 will get underway shortly after 11 a.m. local time. Cars will head out onto the track for pace laps at approximately 11:04 a.m. with the green flag scheduled to drop at around 11:12 a.m.

The race will be broadcast nationally on ABC starting at 11 a.m. local time. More than 400 radio stations will carry the event which can also be watched online at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's official site. Online coverage begins at 10:30 a.m.

Ryan Briscoe will start the race from the pole-position and will be joined in the front row by James Hinchcliffe and Ryan Hunter-Reay.
