LSU Vs. Ole Miss Baseball: Rebels Win 2nd Game In Series, 7-4

The Ole Miss Rebels took revenge on the LSU Tigers for their loss on Friday. In Game 2 of their three-game weekend series Saturday, the Rebels won 7-4 thanks in large part to a two-run home run in the seventh inning by Auston Bousfield to put the game out of reach.

Mike Mayers started on the mound for Ole Miss, giving up four hits and four earned runs in four innings. All four of the Tigers' runs came in Mayers' final inning on the mound, prompting the Rebels' to turn to their bullpen from the fifth inning on. From there, Ole Miss gave up just three hits and no runs.

Ole Miss got on the board with one run in the first inning when Tanner Mathis singled in his first at-bat and eventually scored on a ground out to shortstop. The Rebels added three more runs in the fourth inning, in a flurry that was sparked by a Zach Kirksey solo home run. LSU's starter Ryan Eades also pitched just four innings, giving up eight hits and four earned runs.

Game 3 of the series will be played tomorrow, Sunday, at 1:30 p.m. CT.
