2012 NCAA Baseball Super Regionals: LSU Trails Stony Brook 6-1 After 5 Innings

LSU thought they had an easy path to the College World Series by taking on Stony Brook, but that has not been the case as they currently trail 6-1 in the sixth inning in an elimination game. So far through five innings of play LSU has only one hit off of Stony Brook starter Frankie Vandererka.

That only hit also is the only run for LSU when LSU center fielder Mason Katz hit a home run. Since then LSU has not been able to get anything going on offense.

LSU starting pitcher Ryan Eades was roughed up and lasted only 2.2 innings and in that time allowed four runs, seven hits and walked a batter. Joe Broussard has allowed the other two runs to Stony Brook which came on a two-RBI double by Maxx Tissenbaum.

LSU now has only four innings left to try to get back into this game for a chance to advance to the College World Series.
