2012 U.S. Open Score Update: Michael Thompson Leads, Tiger Woods In The Hunt

So far in the 2012 U.S. Open, only five golfers are under par. One member of the superstar grouping of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson is in the hunt, while the other two have imploded. Woods is currently in second place at -2, one stroke behind Michael Thompson who leads the field at -3.

Mickelson and Watson, on the other hand, have not enjoyed Thursday's opening round. Mickelson sits at +6 through 15 holes, while Watson is at +7.

Thompson's -3 leads all golfers, and he's through 16 holes himself. Jason Bohn and David Toms, along with Woods, are one stroke behind at -2. Marc Warren is the only other golfer in the tournament so far under par, and he's at -1 through 10 holes.

Seven golfers are at even par. Golfing fans can check out a live leaderboard here at the U.S. Open's official website.
