U.S. Open 2012 Update: Joe Ogilvie Is +3 After Day 1

Austin resident Joe Ogilvie shot 3-over par on Day 1 of the U.S. Open tournament at Olympic in San Francisco. Ogilvie is among a handful of participants in the Open with Houston/Austin ties, which also features Anders Hansen (former Houston Cougar), Robert Castro (Houston native), Bob Estes (lifelong Texan and Longhorn alum) and Shane Bertsch (Texas A&M alum).

All of those golfers are toward the bottom of the leaderboard, with Ogilvie and Estes putting out the best showing at +3 and +4, respectively.

Michael Thompson is still atop the leaderboard at 4-under par, but has yet to tee off on Day 2. Meanwhile, Graeme McDowell Jim Furyk have worked their way up with low scores on the day.
