Texas A&M will get a taste of life in the Southeastern Conference on Saturday, as they'll face future division rival Ole Miss after both teams advanced in the first round of the College Station Regional on Friday. The Rebels used a big eighth inning and the arm of ace Bobby Wahl to down No. 2 seed TCU 6-2, while A&M's Michael Wacha continued to shine, striking out nine and allowing only five hits in a 4-1 win over No. 4 seed Dayton Friday evening.
The Aggies will now send senior Ross Stripling, part of their 1-2 "ace" combination in the rotation, to face Rebel sophomore Mike Mayers. Meanwhile, Dayton will try to keep its first-ever NCAA Tournament run alive against TCU in the elimination game Saturday afternoon. The Flyers led the nation in steals in the regular season, but managed only one in the loss to A&M.
