Wimbledon Scores And Results

American Andy Roddick, perhaps better known in recent years for his marriage to supermodel Brooklyn Decker instead of his tennis stardom, avoided another first round exit in a Grand Slam event. Roddick, who lost in the first round at the 2012 French Open, defeated Jamie Burke in straight sets, winning 7-6 (7-1), 6-4, 7-5.

Roddick, who is the No. 30 seed in the tournament, certainly has a long way to go before he redeems himself in the eyes of fans and tennis critics alike, but certainly, a straight set win is a step in the right direction. Should Roddick win his second round match, it'll be the furthest he'll have advanced in a Grand Slam event this year, as he was eliminated in the second round at the Australian Open.

Roger Federer, meanwhile, won his second round match on Wednesday in straight sets over Fabio Fognini, 6-1, 6-3, 6-2. Many tennis experts believe that Wimbledon 2012 is Federer's best chance at capturing another Grand Slam title.

Top-seeded Novak Djokovic cruised in straight sets as well in his second round match, as he defeated Ryan Harrison 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
