Another host team has fallen out of contention in the 2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament. TCU eliminated Texas A&M from the College Station Regional on Sunday afternoon witha 10-2 victory. The Horned Frogs (2-1) will now face Ole Miss (2-0) in their second elimination game of the day.
The Horned Frogs had a 3-2 lead before blowing the game open with consecutive three-run frames in the fifth and sixth innings. A day after losing to No. 3 seed Ole Miss despite throwing senior Ross Stripling, Aggie pitching gave up 12 hits split among four pitchers, and managed only six hits on offense. A&M was also hampered by four fielding errors, while the Horned Frogs improved to a perfect 11-of-11 on steal attempts during this weekend's regional.
TCU will face an Ole Miss team that beat the Horned Frogs 6-2 on Friday afternoon. The Rebels and Frogs split a two-game series in Forth Worth to start the 2012 season.
