2012 NCAA Baseball Regional: Sam Houston State Eliminates Rice 4-1

Sam Houston State's run continues as they eliminate Rice on Sunday with a 4-1 win over the Owls. With the win Sam Houston State advances to the regional final where they will take on Arkansas.

Michael Oros turned in a gem of a performance on the mound and kept Rice off balance the entire game. Oros allowed eight hits and one run in eight innings of work to pick up the win. Michael Burchett picked up the save with a perfect ninth. Matthew Reckling takes the loss after allowing five hits and two runs in four innings.

John Hale went 3 for 4 for Sam Houston State and Colt Atwood, Jake Arrington and Jessie Plumlee finished with two hits each. Christian Stringer collected two hits for Rice.

Sam Houston State must defeat Arkansas on Saturday to force a decisive elimination game on Monday.
