MLB Trade Rumors: Carlos Lee Won't Waive No-Trade Clause

After the Los Angeles Dodgers made a trade offer to the Houston Astros for longtime slugger Carlos Lee, the 36-year-old reportedly was mulling over his options.

Now, it appears Lee once again has vetoed the trade, according to Buster Olney of ESPN via twitter.

It was expected that Lee might agree to this deal, considering the plight of the Astros and the Dodgers being a very competitive team. However, Lee loves where he is and perhaps it will take a little more pushing and prodding to get him to leave town.

The Dodgers are desperate for a bat in the lineup with any kind of thunder, especially with both Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier on the mend. Houston wants to trade Lee for obvious reasons, the chief among them being the need to stockpile young talent for the future.

Lee is scheduled to become a free agent after this season, which might give the Astros some leverage if they start benching him in favor of younger players.
