The news came down after the women's 200 meter finals on Saturday night that the run-off in the women's 100 meters between Texas A&M track star Jeneba and Allyson Felix. The race will take place on Monday at 7 p.m. CT in Eugene, Ore., and the event will be televised live on NBC.
The U.S. Olympic swimming trials are scheduled on Monday night for NBC, but according to Sports Illustrated's Tim Layden the network will cut in live to broadcast the race. This 100 meter runoff is highly anticipated since the two finished in a dead heat for third place. The winner will earn the third 100 meter spot for Team USA and will go to London.
Before it was decided to race on Monday, Bobby Kersee who is the coach for both runners wanted the race to be held on Tuesday to give both athletes the appropriate recovery time after each also ran the 200 meters which concluded on Saturday night.
