The 2012 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List features a mix of Texas A&M and University of Houston players, as the club out of Houston announced on Monday. The award is given to the nation's top college lineman or linebacker each year. Texas A&M has three players on the list - offensive tackles Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews of Matthews family fame, as well as Sean Porter who was also announced to the Butkus Award watch list on Monday as well.
Jacolby Ashworth represents the Cougars on the Lombardi Award watch list, which you can view in its entirety right here.
Candidates earn a place on the list by: earning All-American honors last season; being named last season to their respective all-conference first team as determined by the conference's head coaches; being projected to be an All-American or first team all-conference player for the coming season; or by nomination approved by the nominations committee.
