The Arizona Diamondbacks beat up Astros starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel for seven runs -- six earned -- in only 3.1 innings of work. Keuchel also gave up a pair of two home runs to Jason Kubel which accounted for five runs. Kubel was the driving force in the Diamonbacks win as he went 3-for-5, three home runs and had six RBI's.
Fernando Rodriguez came in and relieved Keuchel, but he did not fare much better as he allowed two runs in just over an innings worth of work. After four innings the Astros were down 7-1 and they unable to make a dent into that Diamondbacks lead.
Diamondbacks starting pitcher Wade Miley held the Astros offense in check by allowing only one run and four hits in seven innings, plus he struck out out a career-high nine batters.
This loss for the Astros was their fifth straight and 18 out of their last 20.
