University of Houston running back Charles Sims has been named to the 2012 Walter Camp Player of the Year Watch List, as it was announced on Friday. Sims is looking forward to a breakout junior season, as if his sophomore season wasn't impressive enough. In 2011, Sims rushed 110 times for 821 yards on the ground to go with nine touchdowns.
He average 7.5 yards per carry and also recorded 575 receiving yards for the Cougars last season. His best games were in a blowout against Tulane in which he rushed for 207 yards. Before that, he recorded 111 yards on the ground in a close win against UTEP. All of this is especially impressive, considering the Cougs' emphasis on the passing game.
