The Houston Astros will look to stop a nine game losing streak as they start a four-game series Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Minute Maid Park.

The Pirates start the series just 2-1/2 games behind the Cincinnati Reds while sitting in the first of the two National League Wild Card spots. The Astros are currently last in the Central, 24-1/2 games behind the Reds.

Houston will send out rookie left-hander Dallas Keuchel (1-2, 4.03 ERA) to the mound, making his second start after being recalled from Triple A Oklahoma City. In his last start against the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 21, Keuchel was roughed up for seven hits and six runs in just 3-1/3 innings in Houston's 12-3 loss.

The Pirates will counter with A.J. Burnett (11-3, 3.59 ERA), who has thrived after being traded by the New York Yankees in the offseason. In his last start against the Miami Marlins on July 21, Burnett earned the win after giving up eight hits and one run in 7-1/3 innings in Pittsburgh's 5-1 win.
