Wandy Rodriguez To Start Against Astros On Saturday

Former Astros pitcher Wandy Rodriguez, who was traded to the Pirates on Tuesday, will make his Pittsburgh debut in none other than Minute Maid Park.

Rodriguez will start Saturday for the Pirates against the Astros, according to the Houston Chronicle. He joined the club on Thursday as the teams began a four-game series in Houston. After the acquisition, Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurlde said he expected Rodriguez to mesh in the clubhouse, despite his struggles with English. From MLB.com:

"I think we've got some great diversity out there to help him along the way," Hurdle said. "He doesn't master English. He's more comfortable with Spanish. We have plenty of people who speak Spanish. A lot of it will be on how quickly we can get him to get comfortable. That's always going to be a challenge."

Rodriguez has posted a 7-9 record with a 3.90 ERA with the Astros this year.
