Daily Preview 2012 London Olympics: Two Athletes With Houston Ties Set To Compete On Saturday

As the 2012 London Olympics officially begin on Saturday, two athletes with ties to the Houston area will be set to compete in their quest for gold.

First up will be Jonathan Horton who will compete in the men's qualification round of artistic gymnastics. Horton will be competing in his second Olympic games as he won a bronze and silver medal during the 2008 Beijing games.

Joining him on the first official day of competition will be Timothy Wang, another native of Houston who will be competing in the table tennis event.

Timothy Wang went from being an unknown to the face of United States table tennis players. In 2010 he won the National men's singles competition. In 2011 Wang placed third but did win the men's doubles and mixed doubles events the same year.
