2012 Wimbledon Results: Andy Murray Advances To Men's Final

Britain will finally have a native son in the gentlemen's final at Wimbledon, as Andy Murray defeated Jo-Wilifried Tsonga, 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, to advance to Sunday where he'll face six-time champion Roger Federer. The Scot came out of the gates quickly against Tsonga, getting a break and winning then winning the first two sets in convincing fashion.

But the Frenchman battled back to take the third set and rebounded down a break in the fourth set to even things up. It got tense in the fourth but Murray, who had last in the semifinals in each of the past three years, managed to get over the hump, closing out Tsonga on shot that was initially called wide but overturned on review.

This will be Murray's first finals appearance at Wimbledon, and his third appearance in the finals of a major. He has never won a major and will be facing a man who's playing in his record eighth final at the All-England Club. Murray will be the first British man to play in the finals since 1938, and has the potential to be the first British winner since Fred Perry in 1936.
