Plano, Texas linebacker Mike Mitchell has narrowed his list of schools down to three to include the Texas A&M Aggies, Florida St. Seminoles and Ohio St. Buckeyes. Mitchell is a four-star recruit who has offers from over dozen schools ranging from mostly major conference programs.
Mitchell is participating in Nike's recruiting event, The Opening this weekend and he talked about his recruitment with SB Nation's Wescott Eberts:
For the Aggies, the proximity of the school is one thing that stands out.
"I really like them, the coaching staff is really good and really nice to me," he said. "It's close to home, so my parents and my whole family could come and watch me."
Mitchell did add that while proximity is a nice benefit of potentially playing at Texas A&M, he did say it won't be a factor in his eventual decision, just another "asset" for the Aggies in their recruitment of him.
Mitchell has already visited Texas A&M and he plans to visit Florida State when he attends the Gridiron Kings event in Florida later in the month. He also plans to take a trip to Columbus to visit Ohio State in the coming months.
