Lamar Reportedly Lands Former Oklahoma State RB Herschel Sims

Former Oklahoma St. Cowboys running back Herschel Sims has reportedly transfered to Lamar, according to the Daily Oklahoman. Sims was booted from the Oklahoma State team due to a pair of felony charges where he withdrew $700 from a teammates bank account.

With Lamar being a FCS school it will allow Sims to play right away. Sims is a former five-star recruit from Texas who rushed for 242 yards and had a pair of touchdowns as a true freshman back in 2011. He was the Cowboys' third-string running back and was expected to fill a similar role for the upcoming season before he was kicked off of the team.

Sims is possibly the best recruit that Lamar has had attend their school in recent history. Once Sims transfer becomes officially he will become the third former Oklahoma State player to transfer to Lamar this summer as he would be joining wide receiver Kevin Johnson and defensive lineman Joe Okafor.
