Houston Texans Sign Omar Gaither To Replace Keyaron Fox

The Houston Texans have addressed their first injury problem of the 2012 season, signing former Carolina Panthers linebacker Omar Gaither to replace Keyaron Fox, who went down with a season-ending knee injury in practice on Wednesday before ever playing for the Texans.

Gaither is scheduled to travel with the team to Carolina for the Texans' preseason opener against the Panthers, but won't play, according to KHOU TV. Gaither spent last season with Carolina after a five-year run with the Philadelphia Eagles, totalling 320 tackles, six sacks and two interceptions in his career.

Since being drafted by the Kansas Chiefs in 2004, Fox has been a journeyman, landing with the Steelers and Redskins before being signed by Houston on July 26. He's totalled 177 tackles, one sack and one interception in his career.
