2012 PGA Championship: Rory McIlroy Dominates, Tiger Woods Disappoints

Rory McIlroy won the 2012 PGA Tournament with ease, finishing eight strokes ahead of David Lynn.

Rory McIlroy blew away the competition at the 2012 PGA Championship, winning the major tournament by eight strokes.

McIlroy, who finished Sunday shooting a 6-under 66, won the tournament with a final score of 13-under. David Lynn, the tournament's runner up, finished at 5-under.

McIlroy's Sunday score of 66 was his best round of the weekend. McIlroy shot 67, 75 and 67 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Tiger Woods, who was the favorite to win the tournament, finished tied for 11th with a score of 2-uder. Woods' best round came on Thursday, when he shot a three-under 69. Woods shot 71, 74 and an even 72 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Defending British Open champion Ernie Els finished tied for 48th, with an overall score of 5-over for the tournament. Adam Scott, who Els bested at the British Open, finished tied for 11th, along with Woods, at 2-under.

Noted golf superstar Phil Mickelson struggled, finishing the tournament tied for 36th at 3-over.
