Viewed unanimously as one of the top offensive linemen in college football, Texas A&M's Luke Joeckel was named as a first team selection by SB Nation on its 2012 Preseason All-Americans list released Monday.
The 6-foot-6 Joeckel, despite being just a junior, has been rumored to be one of the top prospects for the 2013 draft pool if he opts to declare, and is expected to once again anchor a dominant Texas A&M passing attack from the left tackle spot. An All-Big 12 performer as a sophomore, Joeckel and the offensive line allowed only nine sacks of star quarterback Ryan Tannehill last season.
Also rounding out the offensive line selections were North Carolina's Jonathan Cooper (LG), Alabama's Barrett Jones (C), Wisconsin's Travis Frederick (RG) and D.J. Fluker of Alabama (RT).
