When Matt Schaub is on the field, he's as good of a fantasy option as any player in the NFL with dynamic weapons, including Andre Johnson, to throw to. Unfortunately for Texans fans, three of his five seasons as the starting quarterback in Houston have been hampered by injury.
The 2011 season was the latest in his history of injury when he was sent to the injured reserve with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot suffered against the Buccaneers in week 10.
Schaub is healthy now, although he was rocky in his first preseason game of the season, throwing an interception and completing half of his six pass attempts. Regardless, the Texans' quarterback is a strong option for fantasy owners if he doesn't get injured.
If he does, the team will likely be handed over to T.J. Yates, as it was during the 2011 season when Schaub hit the IR. Yates at the helm, though, would likely make the Texans QB position a much less valuable commodity.
