The Houston Texans practiced Tuesday without three defensive starters -- linebacker Brian Cushing, defensive end J.J. Watt and nose tackle Shaun Cody, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Cushing practiced with sore ribs Monday that he played through in the Texans' preseason win over the San Francisco 49ers last weekend. Head coach Gary Kubiak said he expects Cushing to play the upcoming preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, but might miss more practice this week to rest his ribs.
Watt worked out with the team but has missed most of preseason camp after dislocating his elbow early in training camp. Kubiak said if it were the regular season Watt would be ready to go.
