The Houston Texans (2-0) continue preparing for the NFL regular season on Saturday night when they visit the New Orleans Saints (1-2) for a preseason Week 3 matchup.
The Texans have looked good in their first two games with convincing wins over the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers. But the third week of the preseason is considered the one real dress-rehearsal game before it gets real. Houston's starters are expected to play three quarters against the Saints.
The first team offense has looked solid in limited reps so far with quarterback Matt Schaub completing 14-of-20 passes for 180 yards and one touchdown in the first two games.
The Houston defense will be put to the test with Drew Brees leading the Saints on offense as he tries to find a rhythm with receivers Marques Colston, Lance Moore and Devery Henderson. This will be the fourth game for the Saints, as they played in the Hall of Fame game earlier in the preseason.
The Texans' starting defense will be short-handed with llinebacker Brian Cushing (ribs), defensive end J.J. Watt (elbow) and nose tackle Shaun Cody (back) not expected to play.
