Texans Vs. Saints Game Recap: Houston Falls 34-27 In Preseason Shootout

The Houston Texans lost to the New Orleans Saints 34-27 on Saturday night in an exciting game that featured 457 total offensive yards and five fumbles in the first half.

The Texans took advantage of early Saints turnovers to take a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, with Drew Brees and the Saints quickly tying the score thanks to a Lance Moore touchdown reception and a Junior Galette fumble return on the ensuing kickoff.

Matt Schaub was 15-of-18 for 194 yards and one touchdown in the first half. He led the Texans in a first half shootout against the Saints, with the teams tied 24-24 heading into halftime after the Saints locked the score up thanks to a late touchdown drive by Brees and the New Orleans offense.

It was a mistake-filled half, yet one that was exciting to watch for fans, with both teams trading scores throughout the two quarters.

With the backups in the game in the second half the Texans would not fair as well, as Saints quarterback Chase Daniel would give New Orleans the go-ahead score with a 4-yard pass to receiver Joe Morgan early in the fourth quarter.
