The Barclays 2012 Final Results: Nick Watney Birdies 6 Times On His Way To Barclays Championship

Nick Watney has won The Barclays 2012 tournament at Bethpage Black in New York with a 2-under 69 on Sunday. He finished 10-under for the tournament, and three strokes ahead of runner-up Brandt Snedeker.

Watney entered Sunday trailing Sergio Garcia by two strokes, as he finished Saturday's round at even-par while Garcia ended the day 2-under. However, Watney birdied six holes on Sunday, which helped offset four bogeys. Meanwhile, Garcia fell apart in the middle of the round, bogeying three out of four holes during the stretch from eight through 11. He also bogeyed on holes one and 18, and only had one birdie on the day.

Sunday's win was the sixth of Watney's PGA career, and likely the best to date. Meanwhile, a guy who has more wins than anyone on the tour completely imploded, as Tiger Woods shot 5-over on the day, and finished at plus-1 for the tournament.

Texas native Bob Estes entered Sunday four shots off the lead, but he struggled to a 3-over 74 in the final round, finishing the tournament tied for 10th at 3-under.
