Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin caused a worldwide frenzy last season as he knifed through opposing defenses and drilled timely jumpers for the New York Knicks, and this offseason he's gaining more confidence in that shot, according to an article from Focus Taiwan.

Lin's shooting coach, Doc Scheppler, commented on the young guard's progression while at a summer camp in Taipei, where Lin was making an appearance:

"Based on our workout this summer, he's a much better shooter than he was last year this time."

Lin shot 44.6 percent from the field and 32 percent from behind the three-point line in 35 games last season with the Knicks. He averaged 14.6 points per game in just under 27 minutes a night as his whirlwind, out-of-nowhere stint in New York captivated the sporting world and breathed new life into a Knicks team fighting through injuries.

Lin signed a three-year, $25 million deal with Houston in July.
