Houston-area golfers will be on the course this Labor Day weekend at the Tournament Players Club of Boston, in Norton, Mass. The top 100 golfers in the FedEx Cup points standings will play for an $8 million purse.

Austin resident Bob Estes (No. 62 in the FedEx Cup standings) had a good start at The Barclays last week before falling off the pace. Estes will open play on Friday at 7:40 a.m. ET alongside Harris English and Josh Teater.

Texas A&M product Ryan Palmer (No. 42), a Colleyville resident, tees off at 8:04 a.m. with Brian Harman and Kevin Stadler. Houston native Roberto Castro (No. 80) begins his tournament at 1:22 p.m. with Chris Kirk and Michael Thompson.

Tiger Woods (No. 3) will play the first round with Barclays winner Nick Watney and runner-up Brandt Snedeker, who are first and second in the FedEx Cup standings, respectively. Phil Mickelson will tee off with Ernie Els and Rickie Fowler, and Rory McIlroy is paired with Zach Johnson and Jason Dufner.

The weekend is also the last chance that golfers not already on the Ryder Cup team will have to impress captain Davis Love III. Steve Stricker and Jim Furyk are thought to be in the mix for one of the four wild card bids, along with Watney, Snedeker and several others.
