Texas A&M Vs. SMU: Scoreless After The First Quarter

Texas A&M and SMU are scoreless after one quarter in their game at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas.

The Aggies are attempting to bounce back from last week's rude introduction to life in the SEC as they lost, 20-17, to the Florida Gators in their season opener.

Playing SMU was supposed to provide some relief but the first quarter has seen both teams not produce anything on the offensive side of the ball. Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel finished the first quarter 4 of 8 for 58 yards while SMU quarterback Garrett Gilbert is 5 of 10 for 30 yards. Neither team has been able to run the ball, combining for only 17 yards on 14 carries.

Manziel is coming off a 23-of-30 for 173 yards performance in his last game against Sam Houston State and will need to revert to that level in order to lead the Aggies to a much-needed victory to gain momentum heading into the rest of their schedule.
