The No. 14 Texas Longhorns lead Ole Miss 31-10 at halftime, with David Ash showing further growth as a quarterback and the defense using several big plays to take control in the second quarter.
David Ash was the perfect game manager once more, going 10-of-11 for 103 yards and two touchdowns.
Ole Miss utilized a few big plays of their own to pull to within 10-7 and 17-10 in the second quarter, before the Longhorns defense used an aggressive pass rush and an opportunistic playmaking secondary to upset the rhythm that quarterback Bo Wallace was gaining.
Marquise Goodwin has a 69-yard end-around for a touchdown, with the Longhorns putting up 189 yards rushing for the half. So far, the Longhorns are outgaining Ole Miss 285-179.
