Astros vs. Cardinals: Lucas Harrell vs. Jamie Garcia as Houston looks to rebound

The Houston Astros host the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday in the second game of their three game series. St. Louis is looking to clamp down thier hold on one of two NL Wild Cards, while Houston looks to attach a bright end to a bad season. Lucas Harrell (10-10, 3.89 ERA) will take the mound for Houston, facing Jamie Garcia (5-7, 4.25 ERA) for St. Louis.

Harrell is 2-2 against St. Louis. His most recent outing was Sept. 19 against the Cardinals, a 5-0 loss that saw Harrell give up three runs over 5⅔ innings while Houston managed only five hits. Lance Lynn was throwing for St. Louis that day; Houston might have better luck against Garcia. He's 1-5 with a 7.55 ERA in eight career starts against the Astros.

Houston (50-104) is two games away from matching 2011's franchise-worst loss total of 106. The Astros are 3-10 against the Cardinals in 2012, including Sunday's 6-1 loss.
