The Texas A&M Aggies appear to be on their way to their first SEC victory, leading the Arkansas Razorbacks at halftime, 27-10.
A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel was the star of the half, completing 17-of-21 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns, while also racking up 81 yards on the ground on eight carries. Aggies wide receiver Ryan Swope was the main benefactor of Manziel's performance, catching three passes for 107 yards and a score.
Manziel got the Aggies on the board first, capping off a nine-play, 72-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown pass to Mike Evans. Arkansas would answer with the final 10 points of the opening quarter, when Tyler Wilson connected with Knile Davis for a 64-yard touchdown. Zach Hooker tacked on a field goal to give the Razorbacks a 10-7 lead.
It was all A&M in the second quarter, though, with Taylor Bertolet nailing a couple field goals to reclaim the lead for the Aggies. Then Manziel took over, throwing touchdown passes to Swope and Ben Malena.
The Aggies put up 410 yards of total offense overall in the half, with the two teams combined for nearly 700.
