Rory McIlroy won the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship and, in doing so, jumped to the top spot in the FedEx Cup Standings heading into the third week of the Playoffs. He was No. 4 last week and his 4,799 points are 1,331 more than No. 2 Nick Watney.
Louis Oosthuizen finished second in Norton and jumped from No. 21 to No. 5. Tiger Woods, who finished third, is third in the standings, 1,382 points back of McIlroy.
Brandt Snedeker fell from No. 2 to No. 4 in the standings with his sixth-place finish. Phil Mickelson, who tied for fourth in the tournament with Dustin Johnson, improved from No. 17 to No. 9, while Johnson went from No. 8 to No. 6.
Texas A&M's Ryan Palmer, a Colleyville resident, dropped from 42nd to 57th. Austin native Bob Estes held steady at 62 in the standings. Houston native Roberto Castro improved from 80 to 77.
