Texans Vs. Dolphins: Matt Schaub Feels Healthier Than Ever

The Houston Texans are certainly the favorites to retain their crown as AFC South champions, but much of that rests on the shoulders of quarterback Matt Schaub. Entering his ninth season in the NFL, his sixth as the starting quarterback for the Texans, Schaub has had a history of injuries, including a Lisfranc injury that ended his 2011 season early.

In five seasons with the Texans, Schaub has had to sit out 16 games due to injury, but is ready for a dominant season in 2012 without injury. In fact, the former-Pro Bowl quarterback made it clear to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle that he is very confident about what's in store for the Texans in 2012:

"Going into the season, I feel as good physically as I ever have. With the weapons we have - the way the offense is moving and how good the defense is - we're as good as we've been going into Week 1. I feel really confident about where we're headed."

Schaub was very strong in preseason, completing 29-of-38 passing attempts for 374 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. His 113.3 quarterback rating ranked No. 5 among starting quarterbacks in the preseason.
