NFL Power Rankings: Houston Texans Class Of AFC South

With the 2012 regular season beginning this weekend, the Houston Texans can be counted as one of the best teams in the NFL -- the sixth best team in the NFL, if SB Nation's post-training camp NFL Power Rankings have anything to say about it.

The Texans return a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, and having a healthy Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson will be gravy for a loaded team that looks to be the class of a weak AFC South. The next highest-rated team from the division is the Indianapolis Colts at No. 20. The Tennessee Titans are right behind at 21 and the Jacksonville Jaguars are all the way down at No. 29.

Here's NFL Editor Joel Thorman on the Texans, who were ranked No. 5 in the pre-training camp rankings:

6. Houston Texans (LW: 5): Arian Foster looks sharp, Matt Schaub is healthy and Andre Johnson is Andre Johnson. If the defense is near the top of the league again, this will be another popular Super Bowl pick.

The Texans open the season Sunday when they play host to the Miami Dolphins (No. 30 in the rankings) at noon CT.
