Week 1 NFL Odds: Dolphins Vs. Texans

The Houston Texans will open the 2012 season with high expectations, as they host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. According to the latest spread at OddsShark, the Texans will enter Week 1 as prohibitive favorites.

The line opened with defending AFC South champion Houston being favored by 6.5 points, but factors including the Dolphins' decision to start rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill and the Texans' preseason emergence as a potential Super Bowl representative in the AFC have pushed the spread up to where it currently sits: Houston by 13.5.

In terms of the over/under, the game opened at 43.5 total points but has since dipped a point to 42.5, another possible indication of the unknown entity that is Miami's offense.

Other various sportsbooks have the spread from anywhere between 11.5 and 13.5 points, but nothing in single digits remains on the board.

Kickoff is set for noon CT at Reliant Stadium.
