BMW Championship 2012: Phil Mickelson Shoots 8-Under Par, Atop Leaderboard

Phil Mickelson was on fire during his third round at the 2012 BMW Championship on Saturday afternoon. His third round score of 8-under was the best of any golfer on the day, and it put him in a tie with Vijay Singh for the lead. Mickelson had a stretch where he birded seven of 10, including making four straight during that run.

Singh shot a solid round; 3-under par on Saturday afternoon. His round was good but it was inconsistent as he did make seven birdies, but also had four bogies.

The leaderboard is tight as the top 11 golfers are within four strokes of Singh and Mickelson. Tiger Woods is in that group as he is three strokes back after shooting a 1-under par on Saturday.
