SB Nation's Dan Kadar released his latest mock draft on Monday, and he projects the Houston Texans to take Georgia ILB Alec Ogletree with the 27th overall pick.
Housotn's defense suffered a big blow when Brian Cushing went down with a torn ACL, and while he's on track to return in time for the 2013 season, the Texans could still use depth at the linebacker position:
Ogletree is a natural fit for Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense. He's an active linebacker that can work sideline to sideline. Some have been projecting Alabama's DJ Fluker to this spot, but he's not a fit for Houston's zone blocking scheme.
Fluker is stellar in the running game, but his struggles in pass protection may drop him out of the first round.
Houston could also use another receiving threat to keep heat off Andre Johnson, so guys like Clemson's DeAndre Hopkins and Cal's Keenan Allen are a possibility at this spot.
