Chris Paul scored 20 points and handed out 15 assists to earn 2013 All-Star Game MVP honors as the Western Conference defeated the Eastern Conference 143-138 on Sunday night in Houston.
Paul was marvelous all night, setting up teammate Blake Griffin time and again with lobs and capping his MVP performance off with a three-pointer in the eye of East big man Joakim Noah late in the fourth quarter.
Durant followed up his MVP performance in last year's All-Star Game with another great effort, scoring a team-high 30 points. Durant's former teammate and current Houston Rocket James Harden scored 15 points in front of his home crowd.
The West led throughout much of the game, although the East did not go down quietly. A flurry of late threes kept the game close, but there was just too much Paul, Durant and Griffin. Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the East in defeat.
