D.A. Points captured his second career PGA Tour title after shooting a 6-under 66 in the final round to win the 2013 Shell Houston Open Sunday. After waiting around for nearly three hours due to a rain delay, Points made four straight pars to seal his one-stroke victory.
Points shot a 16-under for the entire tournament, finishing just ahead of Henrik Stenson and Billy Horschel. He shot six birdies and no bogeys in the final round of play.
With the win, Points locks up an invitation to the Masters in two weeks. He accomplished the same feat with his only previous tour title, earning a spot at Augusta two years ago with a win at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
An American has won each of the 14 PGA Tour events in 2013, as Points kept that streak alive over the weekend. The Valero Texas Open is up next, followed by the biggest tournament of the year.
