Barret Loux Will Not Be A Houston Astro

Though once interested in signing the 6th pick in the 2010 draft, the Astros have pulled out of the sweepstakes.

According to Brian McTaggart, GM Ed Wade will not be offering Loux a contract.

Wade commented on the issue, saying:

“We talked long and hard about it and we wanted to make sure we did our advance work and tried to get an arm around the entire situation. At this point in time, it’s something we’re not going to pursue.”

Loux is a Houston-native product who went on to Texas A&M. He became a free agent after the D’Backs failed to sign him due to a shoulder injury. He has yet to sign with another team despite a good amount of interest.
