MLB.com beat writer Brian McTaggart reports over Twitter that the only player non-tendered by the Astros at the deadline to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players was Sammy Gervacio. The team will try to re-sign Gervacio, but weren’t willing to go to arbitration with him.
The Astros had a slew of arbitration eligible players, including two that they already concluded deals with in pitcher Nelson Figueroa and catcher Humberto Quintero.
Players that the Astros have tendered arbitration offers to include newly acquired infielder Clint Barmes, outfielders Hunter Pence and Michael Bourn, utility man Jeff Keppinger, and pitchers Wandy Rodriguez and Matt Lindstrom.
Arbitration-eligible players must be tendered a contract by midnight eastern tonight or be released.
